Frequently Asked Questions
What types of machinery do you service and repair?
We service and repair all makes and models of the machinery sold in store, as well as many other brands that are either not sold in store, or now defunct. We are able to work with domestic, commercial and industrial machinery, from simple vacuums through to complex ride-on polishers and sweepers.
I left my machinery in your store for service and/or repairs. What happens now?
When you leave your machinery with us, it will be examined by our expert Service Department technicians and a quote will be issued based on noted faults, components to be replaced, and expected labour involved. You will then be contacted (usually by telephone) and informed about the details of the quote. All known costs are cited and you, the customer, will be made aware of how much you should expect to pay, and when you should expect to receive your machinery.
How much will your service and repairs cost?
It is difficult to give an accurate costing for service and repair on any machinery until it has been inspected here on-site. Once your machine has been inspected by our Service Department, you will be contacted with the quote details concerning cost, turn-around time and parts and labour required.
Do I need to leave a deposit or pay in advance? What about extra costs?
No. Due to the way our quoting system works, we will not charge you until work has been completed on your machinery. Payment is due upon collection or delivery of your machinery. Sometimes, during the service and/or repair process machinery faults not reported by the customer, or worn components that are not detected until the outer casings are opened are found. In these situations, where extra costs to restore machinery will be incurred, the customer will be contacted and must give their consent before this extra work is carried out and the associated costs are incurred.
Note: No costs will be added to your bill for extra parts prior to direct contact between Oz Cleaning Supplies' Service Department and you, the customer.
My machinery is being serviced and/or repaired in your Service Department. How long will it take?
Again, it is difficult to give an accurate time until a full quote has been completed by the Service Department.
There can be several reasons why a service and/or repair may take longer than expected:
- complexity of repair procedures
- new parts needed for the job are in transit
- unreported faults are found and must also be addressed
Note: Most parts are stocked on site, but some machines require parts that must be ordered
I cannot transport my machine to your store. What can I do?
Oz Cleaning Supplies offers a pick-up and delivery service for machinery where required. To organise for your machinery to be picked up and/or delivered within the Melbourne metropolitan area, please call the store to arrange these details with our Service Department.
Note: A fixed minimum cost of $65 will be incurred where Oz Cleaning Supplies staff are requested to perform on-site quotes and/or service and repairs. Please note that this cost applies, regardless of whether service and repairs are made to your machinery.
My machinery is in for service and/or repairs and I need one for work. What can I do?
If your machinery is currently being serviced and/or repaired, you may wish to hire replacement machinery from us while this is happening.
I asked for machinery to be serviced and/or repaired, but you recommended buying a new unit. Why?
In some cases - especially with older units - it is more cost effective for you, the customer, to purchase a newer unit, rather than paying high costs to replace expensive or discontinued components.
